"Hype Williams, from East London by way of three continents, make lo-fi music whose experience is ethereal, primordial, and quasi-religious. It is not dance music. Not sure if it’s even listening music. It’s made with machines but it sounds like it came from 50,000 years in the past, from some animist or ancestor-worship ritual. My ‘cave-spiritual’ feelings from this show seem to have been confirmed when one of the tracks they just sent me involves fruit bats, and a later show—though interrupted by a tattooed and angry Irishman—featured Jewish proverbs."

Schleimer K - Wounded Wood (1983)

Schleimer K est un groupe anglais fondé en 1981. Composé de Michael Wolfen, Dominic Brethes, Mark Bernjamin et Bill Duncan, il mélange des influences cold-wave et les expérimentations électroniques. Publié en 1983, Wounded Wood est le dernier album du groupe qui s'est séparé la même année. Demon Lust est le titre d'ouverture. Parmi les membres de Schleimer K, Dominic Brethes est toujours actif et dirige les Wolf Recodring Studios à Londres. Il a participé au re-mastering des albums de This Heat.

A BIGGER SPLASH (1974)

A true oddity through the complexity of creation, A Bigger Splash is a fictional film in which all the actors play themselves. David Hockney is a gay painter unable to work when he breaks up with a boyfriend, leading his friends and his art dealer to worry about him. Eventually, Hockney begins a new painting, using a swimming pool as a canvas, in which he draws a picture of a man floating in the pool while his lover stands outside and stares. Made in 1974 but unreleased until a decade later, A Bigger Splash is a masterpiece.

HERMINE "Happy Holydays" (1981)

Hermine Demoriane (Hermine, Hermine Williams) is a French singer, writer and tightrope walker. Born in 1942 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, daughter of an engineer and a journalist, she married the British poet Hugo Williams in 1965. Her first album "The world on my plates" came out in 1981 on Crammed Disc.

Alternative TV - The image has cracked (1978)

Fondé en 1977 par Mark Perry et Alex Fergusson Alternative TV est l'un des groupe mythique de la scène punk anglaise. Le fait que Perry soit l'éditeur, depuis 1976, du non moins mythique fanzine Sniffin' Glue n'est pas étranger au phénomène. Cependant leur attitude sans concession et leur musique toujours créative ont beaucoup fait pour leur réputation. L'album The image has cracked, produit par John Cale est publié en 1978. Il recèle de véritables hymnes punk tels Action, time, vision, You bastard ou How much longer, des titres sous influence ska et reggae Love lies limp, Life after life, des expérimentations Red, Force is blind, et mon préféré Still Life. En 1981, Alex Fergusson quitte le groupe pour fonder Psychic TV avec Genesis P-Orridge. (le lien pour charger est sur le titre du post).
